ROSOWA President calls for Unity and Empowerment at Inaugural Meeting
The President of the Road Safety Wives Association (ROSOWA) and wife of the Corps Marshal, Mrs. Nafisa Shehu Mohammed, has expressed her commitment to unity and empowerment to the growth of the association beyond its current reach in the society.
Mrs. Mohammed in an opening remarks during the association’s inaugural General Meeting held on Saturday, welcomed all members, reiterating the association’s motto of safety, unity, and discipline. “I urge you all to uphold these values as we move forward together,” she stated.
She noted that the day marked a significant milestone for ROSOWA as they gathered for their first general meeting, expressing her hope for maximum cooperation and support from members.
“My mission is to provide a platform where members can share experiences, seek guidance, and celebrate each other, regardless of the challenges we may face,” Mrs. Mohammed said.
She encouraged members to actively participate in the association’s activities and to take ownership of ROSOWA’s vision. “Together, we will foster a supportive network, organize empowerment programs, events, and workshops, and celebrate our achievements,” she added.
Mrs. Mohammed also highlighted the importance of self-discovery and mutual support among members. “The first thing we need to do is discover ourselves. Your fellow woman should not be a challenge to you. We are here to put our hands together to do more,” she remarked.
Calling for unity beyond tribal and religious differences, Mrs. Mohammed urged members to avoid intimidation and focus on building each other up.
“We should come together, united and stronger, so that we can do more. Nobody should be intimidating. We are here to build ourselves up,” she emphasized.
She also touched on key areas, including empowerment, supporting their husbands, improving personal income streams, and maintaining discipline among members.
Mrs. Mohammed further stressed the importance of being knowledgeable about their husbands’ plans and roles, stating,
“We are supposed to be the first ambassador of our husbands. Nobody should know your husband better than you do.”
In her concluding remarks, Mrs. Mohammed reaffirmed her dedication to ROSOWA’s goals, urging all members to collaborate in building a stronger and more united association.
