House Of Representatives Public Hearing On The Bill For Amendment Of FRSC Establishment Act And Other Related Matters- Corps Marshal Commends Nigerians For Overwhelming Support
The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed has commended notable Nigerians from various walks of life who actively participated in the debate at the House of Representatives public hearing on the bill for amendment of FRSC Establishment Act and other related matters.
The Corps Marshal expressed appreciation for the valuable contributions and insights shared by the participants, which will help shape the future of road safety administration and traffic management in Nigeria. The amendment bill aims to strengthen FRSC’s mandate and enhance its effectiveness in promoting road safety, enhancing visibility and preventing crashes on all roads.
He appreciated most importantly, the Right Honourable Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Honourable Tajudeen Abbas, who was ably represented by the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Sani Madaki, the former two times Corps Marshal, FRSC, General Haldu Hananiya, immediate past Chairman, Federal Road Safety Commission, Barrister Bukhari Bello as well as notable professors of Law who contributed to the debate.
The Corps Marshal also commended the efforts and support of the National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW), Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers-Petroleum Tanker Drivers (NUPENG-PTD), Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, National Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria, and of course, representatives of Council of Benchers, and those of Military and Paramilitary organisations.
Others are; Dr. Kayode Olagunju, Dr. Nsebong Charles Akpabio, both of who spoke extensively on their experiences while in service and why the Bill should be amended.
Expectedly, he also appreciated the general public, especially those who represented varying interests at the hearing, stating that their opinions will most definitely shape the course of policy formulation and implementation in the Corps.
